Deep Fried Butterfly Shrimp
Author: Mr. Go 24 pcs fresh shrimp
2 stalks green onion
2 slices ginger
1 tblspn rice wine
1 tspn salt
1 cup flour
1/2 tspn baking powder
1 tblspn frying oil
3/4 cup water
1. Remove shells from shrimp, leaving the tail intact. Devein and mix with the green onion, ginger, rice wine and salt. Let sit for 20 minutes.
2. Add oil and water to flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt and beat to a smooth batter.
3. Heat 6 cups oil, drip shrimp in batter and drop into hot oil.
4. Fry over medium heat for 2 minutes until golden brown. Remove, drain and serve.
Serve with five-spice powder and salt.
